Human Resources and Risk Management

The mission of the City of Suffolk Department of Planning and Community Development is to provide effective management of the City’s physical development.

The Department of Public Utilities is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and expansion of the City of Suffolk's water and sanitary sewer systems.
The Public Works department consists of Engineering/Stormwater, Fleet Management, Mosquito Control, Litter Control, Refuse, Roadways, Traffic Engineering, and Transit divisions.
The Purchasing Division provides a centralized system for the management of public funds expended for procurement of materials, supplies, equipment, professional, consulting, and other services, and construction via competitive pricing of the appropriate product quality for timely delivery.
