Turlington Road Culverts Rehabilitation Project

UPDATE

On Thursday, July 20, 2023, the Contractor is in the process of draining the existing culverts in preparation of the rehabilitation.

The primary purpose of this project is to rehabilitate the culverts on Turlington Road over Kilby Creek. 

The existing structure is a triple barrel metal pipe culvert . New headwalls will be constructed and the existing pipes will be extended and re-lined. 

Rehabilitating this structure will improve the safety and efficiency of Suffolk’s roadways.

Preliminary Engineering:         $64,000

Right of Way:         $9,000

Construction:         $672,000

Total:         $745,000

January 2022 – Right of Way Acquisition to Begin

Spring 2023 – Project Starts

Winter 2023 – Planned Finish Date
