Facility Rules
The rules for the East Suffolk Recreation Center Building are as follows:
- All patrons must adhere to admission policies and procedures.
- Shoes and shirts must be worn at all times. No solid black or white tees or shirts with violent graphics or graffiti.
- Children ages 7 and under must be accompanied by a valid card holding adult unless enrolled in a class or activity.
- Food and drink permitted only in the multipurpose room and vending machine area.
- Laptops cannot be used in the Fitness Center or Game Room.
- No persons under the age of 16 are permitted in the Fitness Center.
- School-age youth (Grades K-12) shall not be permitted in the Center before 2 p.m. on regular school days.
- Bicycles, skateboards, skates, cleated shoes, and animals (except service animals) are not permitted in the center.
- Loitering in the hallways, the foyer, or around entrance/exit door is not permitted.
- Soliciting or petitioning on city property is prohibited.
- Smoking, gambling, the promotion of gambling activity, fighting, threatening, cursing or profane language, and overt displays of physical affection are not permitted on the East Suffolk Recreation Center Campus.
- Consuming, possession, or being under the influence of any controlled substance while in or on the grounds of the center is prohibited.
- Running, horseplay, pretend fighting, pushing, tripping, and the like are not permitted.
- The Center Staff shall not be responsible for any loss, damage, or stolen property left in the Recreation Center.
- Patrons are responsible for providing locks for lockers. Locks left on lockers overnight will be removed.
- Any persons wishing to post, distribute, circulate, display any printed material must have permission from the Recreation Supervisor.
- Participants are not allowed in staff office space.
- Any behavior deemed inappropriate will be addressed by staff and may lead to suspension from the Recreation Center.
- Individuals found to be responsible for careless use, damaging, or destroying the center's equipment or property are subject to suspension from Recreation Center. Compensation for replacement may be requested.
