Cleanup Events

  1. St Patrick's Day River Cleanup

    Teaming up to help Keep Suffolk Beautiful. Meet up at the City Parking Lot behind the Courthouse. Cleaning up litter and debris on a predetermined route. Please bring suitable clothing and footwear. Litter grabbers, safety vests, gloves and bags will be provided. Students can earn volunteer hours for this project.


  2. Nansemond River Cleanup

    Join us for a fun morning on the river cleaning up the wetlands. We will be removing litter and debris from the downtown part of the Nansemond River. Must supply own watercraft but litter grabbers and bags will be provided. Don't have a boat? No worries, you can help on land cleaning up litter before it makes it to the river. Hope you can make it!


  3. Clean the Bay Day

    This is an annual event that conducts a massive litter removal for our waterways and communities.


  4. Great American Cleanup

    The Great American Cleanup is the country’s largest community improvement program that kicks off in more than 20,000 communities each spring.


  5. International Coastal Cleanup

    This is a worldwide initiative that Suffolk proudly takes part in on a yearly basis and focuses on cleaning our beaches and waterways. Since the ICC's inception, more than 17 million volunteers have collected more than 350 million pounds of trash around the globe.


  6. Halloween Cleanup

    Dress up in your favorite Halloween costume and meet us in at the Nansemond Brewing Station to receive litter equipment. We will be focused on cleaning up the downtown area. So come out for a good cause and to get some extra usage out of your costumes!


Great Suffolk Cleanup

The Great Suffolk Cleanup an event that sees residents and City of Suffolk employees organize and complete their own cleanups across the city.
