Building Permits New Construction Residential/Commercial Application Procedures

  • Complete an Application for Services-Residential (PDF) or Application for Services-Commercial form (PDF) and submit via email (CDDapplication@SuffolkVa.US), mail or in person.
  • Submittal should contain: site plan, two sets of your building plans (we can accept digital plans up to 10 MB by email,  larger by thumb drive or document link), and payment. 
  • A Permit Technician will review your application, determine whether additional information is needed, and plans will be routed to the Plans Examiner for review.
  • Once Plans are “approved”, and all applicable requirements are met, The Permit Technician will issue the Building Permit.
