Cemeteries

The Suffolk Department of Parks and Recreation Cemetery Division are dedicated to preserving the memories of the people of our community and the rich history of our city. We provide a service that is sensitive to the needs of families and are ever mindful of the eternal bond between the city and the families whose loved ones are memorialized within the cemeteries.

  • City of Suffolk and Web Cemeteries Website are working together to implement an online burial search and mobile application. The implementation of this application will take 13,000 burial records and make them available to the public via website or phone application. This will drastically reduce call volume by 90%.
  • This application will provide digital memorials giving families the opportunity to honor their loved ones by adding pictures and submitting cherished memories.
  • The online burial search allows visitors to see where all of the burials are located through a map of the cemetery, and allows the cemetery to showcase the history and beauty of the cemetery through the website by publishing tours of features throughout the cemetery directly on the satellite map, showing pictures and descriptions of each landmark.
  • Both cemeteries hours of operations are from Dawn to Dusk
If a visitors wishes to transfer burial space, please fill out the Transfer of License for Burial Space form (PDF). This form can be filled out and saved.
