CITY OF SUFFOLK PARTNERS WITH WESTERN TIDEWATER HEALTH DISTRICT TO PROVIDE FREE COVID-19 DRIVE-THRU TESTING
Friday, June 5, 2020
The City of Suffolk, in partnership with the Western Tidewater Health District, will be offering two FREE drive-thru community testing events for COVID-19 on Friday, June 5th, and on Wednesday, June 10th.
Testing on Friday, June 5th will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (or until tests run out), and will take place at the Health & Human Services Building located in Downtown Suffolk at 135 Hall Avenue.
Testing is for any individual, including children, who comes to the testing sites on a first-come, first-served basis. Residents who wish to be tested are encouraged to either drive-up to the testing site, or walk-up directly. All testing offered at these locations is FREE. Social distancing in the walk-up portion of the facility will be required.
The tests are a nasopharyngeal swab that tests for current presence of the virus. Asymptomatic carriers may test positive if they have the virus. This is not an antibody test.
