Suffolk Literary Festival - CELEBRATE READING AND WRITING

Saturday, April 21, 2018

Suffolk and the surrounding area is home to an abundance of literary talent, so it only makes sense to build a festival showcasing local authors while also providing ways for people to harness their own creativity. There will be nearly 20 authors present representing genres from Urban Fiction to Local History. Some authors are even joining up for a panel to share their journey through the writing process. Books will also be on sale. Face painting and crafts will be available for all ages with a story walk for the younger ones. Storyteller Via Goode will be on site and an interactive poetry workshop will be led by poet Amanda Gomez. A rap battle and adult reader’s theater will call on audience participation, and Suffolk Speaks will collect stories from attendees for its oral history project. A complete schedule is available on the Library’s website and on the Suffolk Literary Festival Facebook event page.
