In observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday, Suffolk City offices will be closed Monday, February 18, 2019. Normal operations will resume Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at 8:30 a.m. The City observes all State-designated holidays. Presidents’ Day is considered a holiday for the Commonwealth of Virginia and all State offices are closed on this day.
Suffolk Public Works Department will pick up trash as scheduled. TFC Recycling will also conduct their normal recycling collection routes. Suffolk Public Works Department reminds you that trash must be placed at curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection. The Southeastern Public Service Authority (SPSA) Transfer Station in Suffolk and the Regional Landfill will be open Monday, February 18 from 8 a.m. until 12 p.m.
Suffolk Transit will operate on a normal schedule on Monday, February 18.
Suffolk Joint Use Recreation Centers (Mack Benn Jr., Booker T. Washington, Kings Fork, Creekside, Northern Shores, and Oakland) will be closed Monday, February 18 with the exception of having scheduled youth league athletic practices. The East Suffolk Recreation Center and Whaleyville Community Center will be closed Monday, February 19. The Suffolk Parks and Recreation Administrative Office will be closed Monday, February 18.
Suffolk’s four major parks (Lone Star Lakes, Constant’s Wharf, Sleepy Hole, and Bennett's Creek) will remain open Monday, February 18; however, no park attendant will be on duty.
The Suffolk Art Gallery will be closed Monday, February 18.
The Morgan Memorial Library, North Suffolk Library, and Chuckatuck Library will be closed Monday, February 18 and will reopen on Tuesday, February 19 at 10 a.m.
The Suffolk Tourism Visitor Center will be open on Monday, February 18 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Seaboard Station Railroad Museum will be open on Monday, February 18 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Suffolk Executive Airport Terminal and Suffolk BBQ Co at The Airport will be closed on Monday, February 18. The field and self-service fuel farm will remain open during this time.
