SUFFOLK, VA (October 31, 2019) The work on this project will not be taking place on Friday, November 1, 2019. The work will resume Monday, November 4 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and again on Tuesday, November 5 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

UPDATE

SUFFOLK, VA (October 30, 2019) The project work end date has been updated to Friday, November 1, 2019. The work on and under the bridge will be taking place from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily and the affected portion of the roadway will open after work hours each day.

Norfolk Southern has advised Suffolk Public Works that they will be conducting extensive repairs to the railroad bridge crossing in the 1300 block of Holland Road/Route 58 beginning on Tuesday, October 22, 2019.

The work on and under the bridge will take place on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and the affected portion of the roadway will open after work hours and on the weekend.  The noted weekday closures are expected to remain in place through Tuesday, October 29, 2019. 

Norfolk Southern crews will be placing variable message boards in the area to alert the motoring public to the upcoming closures and detour routing including the use of the Route 58 Bypass, Pitchkettle Road, Constance Road, and Holland Road.  Map also included noting detour routes.
