[ARCHIVED] SPECIAL BULK WASTE COLLECTIONS TO BE PROVIDED

Following the impact of Tropical Storm Isaias and two related tornadoes, the City is providing extra bulk waste or special collections to Suffolk residents.

Bulk waste collected by the Department of Public Works between August 5th and August 19th will not count towards the maximum number of 12 collections per year. The bulk waste collection program allows residents to place one pile of up to 12 cubic yards curbside on any collection day. Bulk waste collection refers to the removal of large, bulky items and other items that are too large to fit into the container to include: appliances, furniture, mattresses, yard waste, debris and boxes.  All regulations regarding the disposal of prohibited materials are still in enforcement.  It is not necessary to contact Public Works to schedule these collections.

Please place your items curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection. The bulk waste program is strictly limited to residential generated debris. Debris generated by contractors will not be collected.

Residents with questions should contact Public Works, Refuse, at (757) 514-7630.
