The Suffolk Public Works Department advises that the 1900 block of Copeland Road has been closed as of today, Friday, November 13, 2020, due to a washout of the roadway at this location. Copeland Road will be closed to through traffic for approximately one week between Whaleyville Boulevard and North Liberty Spring Road due to the needed repair work following recent heavy rainfall which impacted the roadway.

Public Works crews will need to allow time for the swamp upstream of the road to drain down before making the repairs. Barricades are in place and the traveling public is advised to plan ahead for delays due to the detour.
