The upcoming Republican Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2022.
In person Absentee voting is available in the Voter Registration Office, located at 440 Market Street, First Floor, Suffolk, Virginia and begins on Friday, May 6, 2022. The office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday hours will be observed on June 11, 2022 and June 18, 2022 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for early voting.
The deadline to register or update your voter information for the June 21, 2022 Republican Primary Election is Tuesday May 31, 2022.
The deadline to apply for a ballot to be mailed to you is Friday, June 10, 2022. The last day to vote by absentee ballot in person at your local Voter Registration Office is Saturday, June 18, 2022.
Virginia law requires all voters to provide either an acceptable form of ID or sign an ID Confirmation Statement at the polls. Voters arriving at the polls without an acceptable form of ID will be required to either sign an ID Confirmation Statement or vote a provisional ballot. All residents of the City of Suffolk are encouraged to register to vote. If you are not registered to vote, please call or visit the Voter Registration Office to apply or visit the Department of Elections website, www.elections.virginia.gov to complete the online application form.
