All are invited to explore new and familiar spots in Suffolk in a fun way this Saturday at the Amazing Peanut Chase Citywide Scavenger Hunt. The event was created by the Suffolk Public Library and won a statewide award presented by the Virginia Public Library Directors Association for its inaugural year in 2016. The scavenger hunt encourages participants to work as a team to explore the city of Suffolk while competing for prizes.
People can compete as individuals or teams and can pick up their packet of clues at the North Suffolk Library on Saturday, June 24th between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., although the earlier the better to have time to visit more scavenger hunt stops. The chase will end back at the North Suffolk Library for an after party and prizes for the winners. Those competing are encouraged to take photos and share their progress on social media using the designated hashtag #AmazingPeanutChase. Since scavenger hunt stops will be at various locations in Suffolk, teams must have a mode of transportation. Team registration is recommended for quicker distribution of clue packets, but is not required, and can be made through the library’s online calendar.
