The primary goal of the
Fifth Judicial District Community Corrections Program is to provide an array
of punitive intermediate sanctions and punishments for the Fifth Circuit,
General District and Juvenile and Domestic Relations Courts.
The CCP seeks to aid in the rehabilitation of offenders through education, training, alcohol and drug
treatment, counseling and other support systems necessary to enable them to
become fully functioning and contributing members of our community.
Through participation in
community service programs, restitution programs, and other appropriate
sanctions, offenders are held accountable to the Cities of Suffolk and
Franklin and the Counties of Southampton and Isle of Wight for their criminal behavior.
These programs provide offenders with an opportunity to gain or expand employable skills while performing much-needed
tasks on behalf of public and nonprofit agencies.
