Fifth Judicial District | Community Corrections Program

Introduction

The Fifth Judicial District Community Corrections Program (CCP) was established and began program operations in September 1996 through grant funding under the Comprehensive Community Corrections Act for Local Responsible Offenders (Virginia Code Sections 53.1 - 180 through 53.1 - 185.3). This annual grant is provided by the Department of Criminal Justice Services (DCJS). The Fifth Judicial District serves the Cities of Suffolk and Franklin and the Counties of Isle of Wight and Southampton. Through agreement, the City of Suffolk serves as the program administrator and fiscal agent for the Community Corrections Program. The program receives support, guidance and is monitored by the Community Criminal Justice Board (CCJB). The CCJB serves in an advisory capacity to the CCP and provides a direct link to communities of the Fifth Judicial District.
