Purpose

• The CCJB shall assist the Fifth Judicial District in the development, establishment and maintenance of community - based corrections programs, providing the judicial system with sentencing alternatives for certain misdemeanants or persons convicted of non-violent felonies, on whom the court may impose a jail sentence.
• The CCJB acts as both policy and advisory Board for the Fifth Judicial District Community Corrections Program.
• The CCJB serves as a direct link to the communities of the Fifth District consisting of major segments of the local criminal justice system.
• The CCJB is charged with development of a Biennial Community Criminal Justice Plan setting the direction of criminal justice in our communities.
• The CCJB assist the localities in evaluating and monitoring community programs, services and facilities to determine their impact on offenders.
