The CCJB shall assist the Fifth Judicial District in the development, establishment and maintenance of community - based corrections programs, providing the judicial system with sentencing alternatives for certain misdemeanants or persons convicted of non-violent felonies, on whom the court may impose a jail sentence.
The CCJB acts as both policy and advisory Board for the Fifth Judicial District Community Corrections Program.
The CCJB serves as a direct link to the communities of the Fifth District consisting of major segments of the local criminal justice system.
The CCJB is charged with development of a Biennial Community Criminal Justice Plan setting the direction of criminal justice in our communities.
The CCJB assist the localities in evaluating and monitoring community programs, services and facilities to determine their impact on offenders.
