The primary function of the Capital Programs & Buildings department includes project planning, budget development, land acquisition, selection of consultants, negotiating and monitoring contracts, management of feasibility studies, and facility design and construction. The department is also responsible for the maintenance of all municipal buildings. This department also supports the City Manager and the Finance Department in the preparation of the City's Capital Improvements Budget and Plan, coordinates capital projects with City departments, user groups, approval agencies, architectural and engineering firms, contractors, and others, as necessary, for timely completion of cost effectiveness and functional facilities. Monitor all fees, contract payments, and other project expenditures for compliance with contract documents and approved budgets.
