How & Where to Vote
There are many opportunities to go out and cast a vote in the City of Suffolk.
The Suffolk City Council is an elected body of seven members representing each of the City's election boroughs: Chuckatuck, Cypress, Holy Neck, Nansemond, Sleepy Hole, Suffolk and Whaleyville. The Suffolk Public School Board is also decided through the mark of the ballot, and, in addition, the Clerk of the Circuit, Commissioner of the Revenue, Commonwealth's Attorney's, Sheriff and Treasurer are all elected positions.
Registered voters may also cast their ballot in state and federal elections.
Completion of a voter registration form is required to vote in Virginia. Forms may be obtained at any local library or voter registrar's office. Citizens must be registered with the registrar's office at least 29 days prior to an election in order to vote in that election. You may register to vote if you are 18 years of age or older and a citizen of the United States.

Voting Precincts & Polling Facilities
Suffolk has 20 precincts to serve its more than 33,000 registered voters when it comes time for them to do their civic duty.
