Assistant Commonwealth's Attorneys

The Assistant Commonwealth's Attorneys, or Prosecutors, in the Suffolk Commonwealth's Attorney's Office are a diverse group of men and women and truly a reflection of our community.

Vaughn T. Breedlove is a member of the General District Team. Vaughn is a 1992 graduate of The University of Virginia School of Architecture, and received his Law Degree from The University of Richmond, The T.C. Williams School of Law. Vaughn is a former Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Portsmouth. He is an Adjunct Professor @ Tidewater Community College. VBreedlove@suffolkva.us

 

George W. Bruch is a member of the General District Team. George is a graduate of Wayland Baptist University and Regent University School of Law. George comes to the Suffolk Commonwealth's Attorney's office after having served as a Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney in Southampton County. Prior to his admission to the bar George was a member of the Virginia Beach Police department where he spent over eight years as a patrol officer and Detective. As a retired Master Chief Petty Officer in the U.S. Navy, George served in the submarine, aviation and surface warfare communities, leading to his retirement from the U.S. Navy after 21 years of distinguished service. George's hobbies are foreign languages, boating, motorcycles, but mostly spending time with his family and grandchildren. gbruch@suffolkva.us

 

Matthew A. Glassman is a Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney and the Supervisor of the General District Team with Will Jamerson. Matthew graduated from Virginia Wesleyan College in 1996 and received his Law Degree from University of Dayton School of Law in 1999. Matthew has been a prosecutor in this office since 2001. While he has prosecuted a vast array of criminal offenses, Matthew primarily handles drug and traffic related offenses. Additionally, Matthew is responsible for the Drug Asset Forfeiture and Habitual Offender Restoration Divisions of the Suffolk Commonwealth's Attorney's Office. In his spare time, Matthew serves as soccer coach for the American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO). mglassman@suffolkva.us

 

Will H. Jamerson serves as Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney and is a Supervisor of the General District Team with Matthew Glassman. His expertise lies in the investigation and prosecution of major violent crimes, including murder. Will is a 1977 Cum Laude graduate of Virginia State University, and received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1980 from Washington and Lee University. Will is a former Assistant Attorney General of Virginia, and has over 28 years prosecutorial experience. Will is a dynamic lecturer on criminal law and procedure, but still has time to be active in his community and is an avid golfer. WJamerson@suffolkva.us

 

F. Jefferson James is a member of the General District Team. Jeff is a 1978 graduate of Hampden-Sydney College and the University of Richmond where he received his Juris Doctor Degree in 1981. Jeff's legal career spans over 29 years. His areas of expertise are violent crimes and serious vehicular crimes. Jeff is extremely active in the community. He coaches Little League, officiates high school and college football, is a Life Member of the Nansemond-Suffolk Volunteer Rescue Squad, and served as President of the Suffolk Bar Association in 2007. Jeff is an assistance coach and active member of the Board of Directors of the Nansemond River Pony Baseball. JJames@suffolkva.us

 

Michael Mullin is a member of the Juvenile and Domestic Relations Team. He specializes in sexual assault and gang-related cases. Michael is a 2004 Honors graduate of Christopher Newport University, and received his Law Degree from The Catholic University of America, Columbus School of Law. Prior to coming to Suffolk, Michael worked as an Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney for the City of Winchester and spent time in private practice in Northern Virginia. An avid runner, Michael has completed four Tough Mudder obstacle races. mmullin@suffolkva.us

 

Narendra Pleas serves as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney on the General District Team. Prior to joining the Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Narendra previously worked as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for Sussex County as well as the City of Emporia/Greensville County, Virginia. Narendra received her Juris Doctorate from Indiana University and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science from Agnes Scott College. NPleas@suffolkva.us

 

Marilyn A. Sallee is a Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney and member of the General District Team. She specializes in prosecution of fraud and white collar crimes. Marilyn is a former I. C. Norcom High School valedictorian and is a 1972 graduate of Cornell University and received her Juris Doctor Degree, with Honors, in 1975 from George Washington University. Heather E. Shelton is a member of the General District Team. Heather is a 1991 cum laude graduate of James Madison University and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Richmond, T.C. Williams School of Law in 1994. Heather has over 15 years of prosecutorial experience in various areas including homicide, robbery, sexual offenses, theft and traffic offenses. Meredith Travers serves as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney on the Juvenile Team and is primarily responsible for prosecuting Domestic Violence cases. Prior to joining the Suffolk Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office, Meredith previously worked as an Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney for the City of Norfolk. Meredith received her Juris Doctorate from Wake Forest University and her Bachelor of Arts in Journalism from the University of Georgia. Meredith is active in her community and church and spends her off time with her husband and three children. MTravers@suffolkva.us

 

T. Marie Walls serves as Assistant Commonwealth's Attorney on the Juvenile Team. Marie is a 1990 graduate of Christopher Newport University where she was on the National Dean's List and President's List and received a degree in Psychology, with Honors. She is a 1994 graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law where she received her Juris Doctor Degree, with Honors. Marie is a former staff attorney with the Peninsula Legal Aid Center, Executive Director of the CHKD Child Abuse Program, and a Henrico County Prosecutor. In addition, she is a former Adjunct Professor of Law at the William & Mary School of Law and has instructed Continuing Legal Education courses on evidence, housing law, and domestic violence. Marie is also a former faculty member of the Finding Words Virginia Program. Marie handles a broad range of criminal cases, with particular emphasis on sexual assault and child abuse cases. Marie is a Board Member of Prevent Child Abuse-Hampton Roads and a Board Member of Community Criminal Justice Board for the Fifth Judicial Circuit. Marie also serves as a faculty member for the National Advocacy Center, a centralized training center of the National District Attorneys Association (NDAA) and the U.S. Department of Justice, specializing in training prosecutors. Susan H. Walton received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and her Law Degree from George Mason University, where she played NCAA Division I basketball and was team captain. Before joining the City of Suffolk CWAO in 2000, she was a former Chief Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney in Campbell County for seven years. Susan is a member of the General District Team, is assigned to the gang task force, prosecutes animal cruelty cases and is an instructor for the Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys. Susan has run numerous marathons, including the 100th running of the Boston Marathon. She coaches youth basketball, officiates high school and college Soccer, but especially likes to spend time with her family. SWalton@suffolkva.us

 

James E. Wiser as Deputy Commonwealth's Attorney in charge of the Juvenile Division, Gangs and Office Operations. Jim is a graduate of The University of Virginia and received his Law Degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1999. As a former officer in the U. S. Army, Jim served as a Tank Platoon Leader, Scout Platoon Leader, and Support Operations Officer. An avid singer, Jim was a former member of the U. S. National Chorus. Active in his community, he sings in his church choir and also serves as deacon. JWiser@suffolkva.us
