Education
Council Member Timothy Jett "Tim" Johnson was born in 1955 in
Suffolk, Virginia. After graduating from Forest Glen High School in
Suffolk, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Ornamental
Horticulture from Virginia Polytechnic Institute in 1978.
Community Involvement
Upon returning home, Council Member Johnson studied business at Old
Dominion University while running his family business, Johnson's Gardens
Inc., which he still owns and operates today. Council Member Johnson
has been a longtime member of the Suffolk Lions Club, served on the Paul
D. Camp Community College and Nansemond-Suffolk Academy Boards, and is
an active participant with both the Boy Scouts of America and the
Suffolk Community Gardens Project.
City Council
In November of 2014 Council Member Johnson was elected to serve on
the Suffolk City Council representing the Holy Neck Borough. He
currently serves on the City School Advisory Committee on Collaborative
Fiscal Concerns.
