1 - GIS Needs Assessment - This initial step in the GIS implementation was used to determine the viability and usefulness of GIS technologies to the City of Suffolk and the way that the city conducts business. The Needs Assessment included as study of each of the departments within the City and attempted to identify any use of geographic information. If the department used map data, and evaluation of the potential benefit to using a Geographic Information System was conducted.
