City Offices' Presidents' Day Closing Schedule
In observance of the Presidents’ Day holiday, Suffolk City offices will be closed Monday, February 20, 2017. Normal operations will resume Tuesday, February 21, 2017, at 8:30 a.m. The City observes all State-designated holidays. Presidents’ Day is considered a holiday for the Commonwealth of Virginia, and all state offices are closed on this day.
Suffolk Public Works Department will pick up trash as scheduled next week. TFC Recycling will also conduct their normal recycling collection routes. Suffolk Public Works Department reminds you that trash must be placed at curbside no later than 7:00 a.m. on the day of collection. The Southeastern Public Safety Authority (SPSA) Transfer Station in Suffolk will be open Monday, February 20th from 7 a.m. until 12 p.m. The Regional Landfill will be closed on Monday, February 20th.
Suffolk Transit will operate on a normal schedule on Monday, February 20th.
Suffolk Joint Use Recreation Centers (Mack Benn Jr., Booker T. Washington, King’s Fork, Creekside, Northern Shores, and Oakland) will be open for before and after school programs and for scheduled youth league athletic practices on Monday, February 20th. The East Suffolk Recreation Center and Whaleyville Community Center will be closed Monday, February 20th.
Suffolk’s four major parks (Lone Star Lakes, Constant’s Wharf, Sleepy Hole, and Bennett's Creek) will remain open Monday, February 20th; however, no park attendant will be on duty.
The Suffolk Art Gallery will be closed Monday, February 20th.
The Suffolk Parks & Recreation Administrative Office will be closed Monday, February 20th.
All Suffolk City Libraries (Morgan Memorial, North Suffolk, Chuckatuck) will be closed Monday, February 20th and will reopen on Tuesday, February 21st at 10 a.m.
The Suffolk Tourism Visitor Center will be open from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Monday, February 20th.
The Suffolk Executive Airport Terminal will be closed on Monday, February 20th but the airfield and self-serve island will remain open.
