Litter Control

The Litter Control Office serves as the liaison for the Suffolk Clean Community Commission. The office is located at the Department of Public Works Road Maintenance Division, 866 Carolina Road, Permits Office/Trailer.

As its objective, the Clean Community Commission promotes public interest in the general improvement of the environment; initiates, plans and coordinates programs for litter control and encourages and placing, planting and/or preservation of trees, flowers, plants, shrubs and other objects of ornamentation; and implements programs consistent with the Keep Suffolk Beautiful Program. We accomplish our objectives through various programs offered through our office such as the Adopt-A-Street, Adopt-A-Highway and Adopt-A-Spot Programs, Neighborhood Cleanups, Clean the Bay Day, and Suffolk Recycles Day.

The Commission is an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful and HR Clean.

For more information, please contact Litter Control Coordinator Michael Griffith at (757) 514-7604 or via e-mail at mgriffith@suffolkva.us.

If you have general questions about recycling, please click on http://earth911.com/.
