Emergency Assistance

Emergency Assistance provides short term, limited financial assistance to families with children when a fire or natural disaster has destroyed essential items needed for taking care of a family. The maximum amount of Emergency Assistance is limited to $500.00.

If you are in need of Emergency Assistance, you may visit the Suffolk Department of Social Services located at 135 Hall Avenue, Suite B in Suffolk, VA or call (757) 514-7450. When you visit or call, please ask for an Intake Services worker to assist you.
