What is FAMIS?

FAMIS is an acronym for – Family Access to Medical Insurance Security. FAMIS provides health insurance to uninsured children under the age of 19 years who are ineligible for Medicaid. There are no enrollment costs or monthly premiums for FAMIS. For some services, the family will have to pay a co-payment.
