Title VI Notice to the Public
YOUR RIGHTS UNDER TITLE VI OF THE CIVIL RIGHTS AT OF 1964
The Suffolk Transit system assures full compliance with the Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and other nondiscrimination authorities.
Title VI provides that “no person in the United States shall, on the grounds of race, color, nation origin, or limited English proficiency be excluded from participation in, or be denied the benefits of, or be subjected to discrimination under any program or activity receiving Federal financial assistance” (42 U.S.C. Section 2000d).
Any person(s) or organization(s) believing they have been a victim of discrimination based on race, color, or national origin may file a complaint by contacting Suffolk Transit. Title VI complaints must be filed within 180 days of an alleged discrimination act.
