Information Technology

The focus of the Information Technology department is to maintain and manage the connection for the citizens of Suffolk to have access to services offered by the City. The department provides the technological leadership in the strategic planning, management, and distribution of information that is cost effective and serves to support the mission of the City. The department provides and maintains the following services for the City:

  • Internet (E-government, virtual private networks, social media)
  • Application (Financial, Budgeting/Payroll, Human Resources, Public Safety, Planning and Community Development, Public Works and Utilities, Treasurer, Revenue services, Parks and Recreation)
  • Network (Email, security, storage, LAN/WAN connectivity, wireless)
  • The Geographical Information System (GIS) geospatial data page
  • Telecommunication (Voice, Cable, Video Conference, VOIP)
