Customer Service

The Customer Service Division manages the City of Suffolk's utility system's service account activities, which includes over 24,860 water and 24,770 sanitary sewer accounts, utilizing the Hampton Roads Utility Billing System (HRUBS). The Customer Service Division implements the water meter reading, billing, and payment processes for the department.

Responsibilities


The Customer Service Division's responsibilities include:
  • Reading and maintaining the City's water meters
  • Partnering with Hampton Roads Sanitation District (HRSD) to provide combined billing for sewer, water, and wastewater treatment through HRUBS
  • Responding to citizen account and service inquiries
