Our Special Events Team is committed to provided entertainment and fun for the whole family throughout the course of the year.  You wouldn't believe all of the fun that we have here in Suffolk.  Our family friendly events provide recreation for the entire family regardless of community or lifestyle. 

2020 Events


Carpool Cinema - October 24, 2020

The Parking Lots behind the Godwin Court house will transform into a Carpool Cinema. Bring your family and enjoy the movie from your car. Two 40-Foot tall screens will show Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (2001). This film is rated PG.

Citizens are encouraged to park behind the Godwin Courthouse or in the Public Parking Lot on N. Commerce Street. The Godwin Courthouse is located at 150 N. Main Street.

Check out the local shops and restaurants, and then enjoy the movie from your car. The movie will begin at approximately 7:00 PM. Pets are welcomed and must be on a leash. 

The parking lots will be partially closed from 1 – 6 PM on Saturday, October 24 to prepare for the event. This event is free and open to the public. 

Home of the Brave 5K|10K - Virtual

Join us for a race around Suffolk. This virtual 5K & 10K event is hosted by Road Rage. This is open to all ages. For more information or to register visit Suffolk5k.com

Festival of Lights at Sleepy Hole Park

The inaugural Suffolk Festival of Lights will display over 35,000 bulbs at Sleepy Hole Park, 4616 Sleepy Hole Road. The free drive through holiday light display will be open November 20th at 5:30 PM through December 30th at 9:30 PM The display will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
