Functions


The primary function of the Capital Programs and Buildings department includes:
  • Budget development
  • Facility design and construction
  • Land acquisition
  • Management of feasibility studies
  • Negotiating and monitoring contracts
  • Project planning
  • Selection of consultants

Responsibilities


The department is also responsible for:
  • Maintenance of all municipal buildings
  • Supports the City Manager and the Finance Department in the preparation of the City's Capital Improvements Budget and Plan
  • Coordinates capital projects with City departments, user groups, approval agencies, architectural and engineering firms, contractors, and others, as necessary, for timely completion of cost effectiveness and functional facilities
  • Monitor all fees, contract payments, and other project expenditures for compliance with contract documents and approved budgets
