Functions
The primary function of the Capital Programs and Buildings department includes:
- Budget development
- Facility design and construction
- Land acquisition
- Management of feasibility studies
- Negotiating and monitoring contracts
- Project planning
- Selection of consultants
Responsibilities
The department is also responsible for:
- Maintenance of all municipal buildings
- Supports the City Manager and the Finance Department in the preparation of the City's Capital Improvements Budget and Plan
- Coordinates capital projects with City departments, user groups, approval agencies, architectural and engineering firms, contractors, and others, as necessary, for timely completion of cost effectiveness and functional facilities
- Monitor all fees, contract payments, and other project expenditures for compliance with contract documents and approved budgets
